Hey Camp Blazing Trails! Welcome to MapQuest week! We're so excited to see so many new faces out at camp, as well as our beloved friends from last year. Mondays at camp are traditionally Tribal Time, but we also have fun things like a camp-wide, special start-of-the-week assembly! Check out the pictures below to get a taste of what our day was like today!
Princess Kim came to visit and be a part of our start-of-the-week assembly!
The counselor challenge today was a sort of hot potato...the counselors had to pass around a spoon, and whoever had it in their hand when Raptor turned around had to pick a jar of mystery baby food and eat at least one bite! The campers all thought it was hilarious!

In honor of MapQuest week, the Takotas had a special guest: Mouse, who took them geocaching! First we talked about different kinds of maps and how people use them to find their way to places. Then we talked about how a GPS can be a much more accurate tool to find out where you are and how to get somewhere. Finally, we plugged in the coordinates to a geocache in the park, and set off to find it!
It took a lot of bushwhacking and searching! The Takotas were troopers, and had GREAT attitudes throughout the whole hike!

Would ya look at that! Ya'll sure have a TON of walking sticks! Loco Raptor and Mouse were super busy woodburning and drilling all morning! Thanks for continuing this awesome tradition, Camp Blazing Trails!
