A Cool Day in Spite of the Heat!

Hey Camp Blazing Trails! We had an awesome time yesterday with Water Day! Even though it was HOT, we found lots of ways to beat the heat! Enjoy the pictures from our wet n' wild day!

Today's Counselor Challenge was a diving competition. The most creative counselor dive would win!

Rhino went with a classic belly flop!

Gnome getting fancy with a cartwheel into the pool!

Jump Rope is attempting to jump 5 campers!

One small leap for a Jump Rope...

Yay Jump Rope!

The Takotas and the Arawaks cheered both cheered REALLY loud, and Mouse couldn't tell who was louder...so they had to do Rock, Paper, Scissors to determine who was the winner!

Jump Rope won!

This week's Water Day was a prospector themed obstacle course in honor of Rocks and Minerals week! The Arawaks went first, and did a great job marking their mining territory, going through the mining tunnel, and panning for gold and gems in the Blazing Trails Aquatic Center!

The Arawaks had an EPIC diving contest (with no actual dives!) They did an amazing job, and we saw some really cool and creative dives!

Jump Rope is still the reigning dive champion at Blazing Trails!

The Takotas had a great Water Day too! They also did a prospector-themed obstacle course, and they did an AMAZING job, especially in cheering on their teams!

The Takotas loved "mining" for splash bombs, shovels, "gem" necklaces, and beads!

The Takotas are SUPER spirited!

A bead! 10 points for the yellow team!

The Takotas also had an EPIC diving contest (except no real diving!) We saw some pretty amazing jumps!

A photographer from the N&O was walking around the park, looking for photo opportunities of people beating the record heat. So some of our campers might just show up in the paper!

Even though it was a hot day, we had a great time here at Camp Blazing Trails! We can't wait to see what canoeing and fishing day will hold!
