Special Guests Galore!

Hey Camp Blazing Trails! We had a great Friday to end our Survivor: Camp Blazing Trails week! It was Career Day at camp, and we saw a lot of great costumes! We also had two special guests: Dangeroo and the Blue Jay Point Center! Enjoy the pictures of our fun day!

Electric Jaguar was a professional reader for Career Day!

Dangeroo came back to camp as one of our special guests!

Dangeroo loves backpacking and camping, and he brought out a lot of the tools, clothes, and equipment he uses to survive out in the wilderness!

Dangeroo dunked the lit match in the bucket of water....

...and it still lit!

As Emma proved, carrying water with you into the wilderness is really heavy work!

One alternative to carrying clean water with you is to have a nifty water bottle like this to filter your water before you drink it from the bottle!

Dangeroo showed the kids a more complicated water filter system

Dangeroo showing off his cooking and eating kit, which includes a pan, four bowls, and a plate, all contained within a small pot with a lid!

A combination spoon, fork, and knife!

Dangeroo had the Takotas try on some different shirts and guess what type of weather each shirt was appropriate for!

Testing to see how waterproof the rain jacket is!

Dangeroo put Jolly Rancher's shoe in this special waterproof bag, then dunked it in a bucket of water!

The final verdict? The shoe was bone dry!

Making s'mores is almost as sticky as eating them!

Sneaky Raccoon was the Arawak Camper of the Week! Amazing job, Sneaky Raccoon!

Swift Jackal won the Takota Camper of the Week! Great job, Swift Jackal!

Thanks for a great week, Camp Blazing Trails! We've had so much fun with you this summer, and can't wait to see what our last week of camp holds!
